I'm looking to hire several software developers for the summer (paid internship) and beyond (regular employment).

Write code.

Mostly Python. (Some Squeak and Lua.)
No Python experience required ... as long as you can learn it quickly.

Get paid.

And have fun. I'm an MIT grad and "parallel entrepreneur" looking for a boatload of summer interns to crank out code for 3 different projects.

Outside of Boston. Live in the suburbs to be close to work; take the commuter rail into the city for more excitement on weekends.

And beyond?

I'm also looking for at least one 2008 (or earlier) grad to continue the momentum beyond the summer.

Use Croquet or similar metaverse tool to build a cutting-edge 3D environment for kids age 6-9 to learn a second language.

Other tasks include machine learning, information extraction, and general slicing & dicing of textual and numeric data to present on the Web.

We're a very small Web company looking for 1-2 sharp software engineers, plus a boatload of summer interns. You'll report directly to me: founder, CEO, parallel entrepreneur, and MIT grad. Work hard and have fun, with no bureaucracy.

Use Croquet (OpenCroquet.org) or similar metaverse tools to build a cutting-edge environment for kids age 6-9 to learn a second language.
Assign documents and collections to multiple categories, with confidence levels.
Correlate independent sources of numeric data; identify outliers.
Use Web APIs to mashup data and leverage existing Web services.
Harvest HTML and XML from several sources.
Extract interesting numbers, people, places and phrases from HTML and XML.
Compute curve fit, interpolate missing values, programatically generate charts & graphs.
